ASUS routers

ASUS routers have a built-in OpenVPN client. Newer firmware calls it VPN Fusion; older firmware and Asuswrt-Merlin call it VPN Client.

1. Get your OpenVPN file

   On realvpn.io/settings choose OpenVPN UDP, a location and New manual device, then press Generate config. RealVPN.ovpn is saved to your Downloads.

   

2. Open the router admin panel

   Go to router.asus.com (or 192.168.50.1 / 192.168.1.1) and sign in.

3. Add an OpenVPN profile

   Open VPN → VPN Fusion (or VPN → VPN Client) and click Add profile.

   Apply and enable

   Choose OpenVPN, name it RealVPN, select RealVPN.ovpn, click Upload, then OK / Apply and enable.

4. Choose which devices use the VPN

   In VPN Fusion, the profile applies to all devices by default. Use Exception list to send only some devices (e.g. the TV) through RealVPN, or exclude devices that must use your local IP.

5. Check the status

   A green Connected status means the tunnel is up. Open realvpn.io from any device at home — the live check should show the RealVPN server.
