OpenWrt

OpenWrt can run RealVPN via the LuCI OpenVPN app. You’ll add the config, create an interface and a firewall zone.

1. Get your OpenVPN file

   On realvpn.io/settings choose OpenVPN UDP, a location and New manual device, then press Generate config. RealVPN.ovpn is saved to your Downloads.

   

2. Install OpenVPN

   ssh [email protected]

   # opkg update # opkg install openvpn-openssl luci-app-openvpn # OpenWrt 24+ with apk: apk add openvpn-openssl luci-app-openvpn

3. Upload the config in LuCI

   Open VPN → OpenVPN. Under OVPN configuration file upload enter the name realvpn, choose RealVPN.ovpn and click Upload. Tick Enabled for the new instance, Save & Apply, then Start.

4. Create the interface and firewall zone

   ssh [email protected]

5. Verify

   From a device on your LAN open realvpn.io. The live check should show the RealVPN server’s IP.
