Synology routers & NAS

Synology routers (SRM) and NAS devices (DSM) can import an OpenVPN profile directly.

  1. Get your OpenVPN file

    On realvpn.io/settings choose OpenVPN UDP, a location and New manual device, then press Generate config. RealVPN.ovpn is saved to your Downloads.

  2. Synology NAS (DSM 7)

    Control Panel → Network → Network Interface → Create → Create VPN profile → OpenVPN (via importing a .ovpn file). Name it RealVPN, leave username/password empty, Import .ovpn file, then Next → Apply. Select the profile and click Connect.

  3. Synology router (SRM)

    Network Center → Internet → Connection → VPN Setting → Create VPN profile, choose OpenVPN and import RealVPN.ovpn. Enable the profile to route the network through RealVPN.
